Yes. Some patients may be able to switch from Mounjaro to a Wegovy injection or from a Wegovy injection to Mounjaro following a clinical assessment.
Mounjaro contains tirzepatide and acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Wegovy contains semaglutide and acts on the GLP-1 receptor. Both medicines are injected once weekly, but they are not directly interchangeable and there is no clinically proven dose-for-dose conversion between them.
Switching from Mounjaro to Wegovy if treatment has been well tolerated
If you have tolerated Mounjaro without significant side effects, your prescriber may recommend the following estimated equivalent Wegovy dose:

The Mounjaro-to-Wegovy tables are Lotus’s estimated off-label switching guidance and have not been formally evaluated in direct clinical trials. Starting Wegovy above its usual 0.25 mg starting dose is an off-label approach. When switching to Mounjaro, 2.5 mg once weekly is its standard licensed starting dose.
There must be a minimum 7-day gap between your final injection of your current medication and your first injection of the new medication. Mounjaro and Wegovy must not overlap.
